Our Story

The Lowe's Guardian Angel story begins from the heart.  Lucy Brown of Sumter South Carolina was a nurse at Toumey hospital in the 1950's, 60's and 70's.  She had a heart for taking care of those in need of help especially the elderly and disabled.  In 1983 she left the hospital to open Brown's Rest Home which she ran until her death.  Her daughter Windy Lowe, after working with her for many years, decided to carry the torch in Atlanta GA, leaving a successful corporate career to start Lowe's Guardian Angel to continue the work that her mother began.  She started it with her husband First Sergeant (retired) Glenn Lowe and her sons Alonzo Q. Ford and Antwaun G. Lowe.  Since, they have endeavored to enhance the lives of disabled and elderly through Personal Care Homes, Community Living Arrangements and a Day Recreation Center.  Many employees have shared the vision and helped build a culture that focuses on a higher standard with a personal touch.
